A.C. Grace Company sponsors Nutrition Workshop at ACAM Spring Event

Pre-conference workshop by Nutritionist David J. Getoff draws large attendance!

San Diego, CA -- April 22, 2010 – A.C. Grace Company provided an education grant to the American College for Advancement in Medicine in support of the day-long nutrition workshop presented by David J. Getoff and the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation this past Wednesday, April 21st at the Sheraton San Diego.

David J. Getoff, CCN, CTN, FAAIM, who is Vice-President of the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation, presented a workshop titled NUTRITION THAT HEALS From Generations of Research. Pioneering researchers in the field of health and nutrition have found a strong link between diet, vitality, and disease-free survival of all populations studied.  Today, those who continue to consume their traditional foods, which vary throughout the world, enjoy long-term health that is the envy of their “civilized” counterparts.

In response to the need for reliable information on nutrition, ACAM and PPNF have partnered to offer a comprehensive program on diet and supplementation.  This seminar was the first part of an extensive educational program that will soon become available. This course is designed for all physicians, nutritionists, and other health care professionals who use nutrition in their practice, and for anyone interested in information they can trust.

Key topics covered in the seminar:
•    The importance of the pioneering research of Weston A. Price, DDS, and Francis M. Pottenger, Jr., MD.
•    How to apply the wisdom of traditional diets to prevent modern-day diseases and improve health.
•    What a healthy diet really is, how this has been validated, and what dietary changes are the most important while working with your patients.
•    The role of essential animal fats in human nutrition and the benefits of select vegetable fats when used properly.
•    Why kidney and liver laboratory tests are unreliable and the importance of supporting these organs with appropriate supplements.
•    The current misguided theory on cholesterol.
•    The myths surrounding vegetarianism.
•    Healthy and unhealthy dairy products.
•    Methods of reducing exposure to environmental toxins and effective ways to work on detoxifying your patient population.
•    Why we need nutritional supplements, with specific recommendations of products David finds to work best with his patients (no financial interest involved).
•    Recommended books and resources to use in educating your patients.  These include historical, multi-generational studies showing that veganism is not the best diet for long-term health.

In this workshop Getoff discussed at length that A.C. Grace Company's UNIQUE E® is the "only vitamin E worth taking."

During breaks, at lunch and in the following three days of the ACAM Spring Education Summit hundreds of health care professionals visited with representatives from A.C. Grace Company to understand why UNIQUE E® is UNIQUE, and how they can integrate it into protocols they use with their patients.

The Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation® is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) educational corporation, originally founded in 1952.  The foundation is committed to protecting, preserving, and disseminating the research of Drs. Price and Pottenger whose studies of the role of whole, living foods in human nutrition provide the basis for understanding our current state of health. PPNF publishes the quarterly Journal of Health and Healing and offers lectures, books, and audio/video materials on current health and nutrition issues.

David Getoff has a private practice in nutrition and traditional naturopathy in San Diego, CA and has been educating heath care professionals and the public on how to attain optimal health for the past 18 years.
